hey there, i’m sara
… and I’m the designer/stationery expert behind Laurel Cove Creative. Most days you can find me cozied up in my sunny studio with a cat in my lap and coffee that could use 30 seconds in the microwave.
Wedding Invitations are the heartbeat of my business. They are what makes my heart pitter-patter with joy and excitement each and every day. I'm passionate about creating unique ways to tell your story through wedding invitations that make people say "Oh, that's so YOU!"
Custom wedding suites are an elegant and wonderful statement; they really are the first impression of your wedding. I would love to be able to help you create something that is guaranteed to wow your guests, and sure to give you all the "heart eyes." Here is a little more about me, and how I've got a lifetime of creative inspiration at my fingertips!
my creative journey
I get a lot of questions about my business name & where it comes from. It’s inspired by the place I started my creative journey! I was born and grew up in a small lake community in northern New Jersey. My family’s home sits in a little corner called Laurel Cove on this lake. I spent my entire childhood being inspired by this beautiful area, with many hours spent at a table overlooking the cove, putting my creativity to paper with drawings and art projects.
Education and Professional Experience
After graduating high school, I went on to college and completed two design degrees: an Associate’s Degree in Graphic Design, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Design & Interactive Media. Although I’ve learned a lot on my own, it’s helpful for you to know I’m professionally trained in graphic design as well as all design software. This is a lifelong passion for me, not just a hobby! I’m also continually attending training programs and seminars to always remain current in stationery trends, printing capabilities, and etiquette.
fun (and less-important) facts about me
• I’m a proud Disney nerd and believe most of life’s lessons can be found in the classics.
• I have an extreme sweet tooth. Give me ice cream and cookies all day, every day!
• I didn’t learn to snowboard until I was 22. It wasn’t pretty (how many times can a person bruise their tailbone?!) but now I can’t imagine winter without the slopes.
• My husband and I traveled all over California on our honeymoon. If you’ve never been to Yosemite National Park, get it on your bucket list.
• Our daughter, Joanie, was born in June of 2021. She keeps me on toes and inspires me every day.
• How do I unwind after a long day of creating? True crime documentaries on Netflix or Below Deck on Bravo!
